Shepherd
- Attend Encounter
- Be prepared (look up relevant Scripture, think about discussion, etc.)
- Arrive 15 min early and hang with your kids, not other leaders
- Participate in worship
- Fill out a report form each week
- Clean up after your group
- Contact kids in your group each week (preferably by phone)
- Help out before, during and after on theme nights (ex. Under the Sea, Gold Rush)
- Work on bringing PS along side you
- Plan a get-together for your kids outside of HOF at least once per semester
- Be able to lead a child to Christ
- Commitment: about 2 ½ hrs per week (1 ¾ hrs HOF plus ¾ hr preparation and phone calls)
- Attend quarterly trainings
Be able to think outside the box on a HOF night. You may do different activities with your kids; the outline is just a guide. These are your kids – build a relationship with them and have fun while learning!
Potential Shepherd
- Arrive early
- Focus on building relationships and having fun with the kids, not just hanging out
- Be willing to help out with the Shepherd’s duties when asked

- Commitment: about 1 ¾ hrs per week at HOF

Challenge/Prize Facilitator
- Have a team competition game (Challenge) prepared each week (related to the theme of the lesson if possible)
- Lead kids through the game
- Let Pastor Jennifer Ruiz know when the prizes are running low so she can order more
- Pick up special items needed (clear them with Pastor Jennifer Ruiz first) and turn in receipt in to Pastor Jennifer Ruiz (ex. Ice cream & chocolate syrup for prize mentioned above)
- Fill out application and background check
- Commitment: about 30-40 min preparation
Worship Leaders
- Choreograph for 8 to 12 songs (songs provided)
- Arrive 15 minutes early
- Get the kids involved by encouraging them while leading
- Fill in gaps between songs with prayer, clapping rhythms, etc.
- Fill out application and background check
- Commitment: 4:30-5:15 for first session; 5:45 to 6:30 for second session
Greeter
- Arrive early for either/both HOF session and say Hi to the kids as they arrive
- Fill out application and background check
- You choose the time commitment
Giver of Hugs and Encouragement
- Gives hugs and encourages kids
- Fill out application and background check
- You choose the time commitment
Snack Preparer/Server
Snack
- Buy healthy snacks (including paper plates & cups) each week using the budget given
- Prepare the snack (cut up fruit, put other food out in bowls, fill up water cooler)
- Serve the snack to the kids in first session
- Serve pizza to the kids in second session
- Clean-up
Pizza
- Pick up the pizza each week
- Monitor how many pizzas are ordered each week
- Set up the pizza table (put out plates, fill up water cooler, put out snack left from first session)
- Serve pizza
- Clean up

- Be present from: 4:15- 6:15 on Tues plus shopping
Sound Technicians
- Work sound equipment; microphones, changing music CDs for worship, playing videos/DVDs
- Time commitment: 4:00-7:30 on Tuesdays
- Must be trained

Children’s Celebration Teacher
- Teach during one service
- Prepare lesson, games, crafts, etc.
- Be energetic/loving
- Fill out application and background check
- Attend quarterly meetings
Children’s Celebration Helper
- Help the Children’s Celebration teacher (after the worship in either service)
- Choose according to your own schedule, if you would like to commit to:
every week, once a month, as it fits your schedule

Nursery Shepherd
- Work in the nursery either service
- Be present every week in either service
