Morris and Aidah Ogenga

Mbale, Uganda

Morris and Aidah OgengaPastor Morris is the head pastor of the Mbale Presbyterian Church of Uganda, where he has been serving for nineteen years. As the Bishop of the Eastern Presbytery of Uganda, Pastor Morris has responsibility over all the Presbyterian churches in his area.

Morris has a vision to see 10 churches planted each year in Eastern Uganda and Western Kenya. To date he has been involved in the planting of 35 churches and sees the need for another 165.

He also desires to meet the needs of the hundreds of thousands of children left orphaned by the AIDS epidemic in the region. Working with Grace International Children’s Foundation, Morris and Aidah were able to start their first children’s home called Lulwanda “The Rock” Children’s Home (www.ugandaorphans.org). This children’s home, providing for 45 orphans, has become a model for the establishment of many more in Uganda and Kenya.

Aidah, Pastor Morris’ wife of more than 20 years, leads women’s Bible studies and is the coordinator for children’s ministry at many of the area churches. She is also a member of the Dove Choir, which performs at crusades, an important part of the church planting effort. Morris and Aidah have three children.
