Josh and Stefanie Kirbo, along with their children, Jasmine, Adikan and Madilyn have been living in Mexico since July of 2005. After spending nearly a year in Manzanillo to adjust to the culture, learn the language and gain some in-country experience, they moved to Oaxaca City, Mexico in June 2006.
Their vision is to continually find ways to meet to the needs of the people in Oaxaca. One of those needs is to help equip Christian leaders to make disciples who make disciples. They are supporting existing churches and training leaders to use the cell church model as a tool.
Oaxaca is a state in southern Mexico. The landscape is very mountainous with a temperate climate. Oaxaca contains over half of Mexico’s indigenous people and is the largest concentration of people groups in all the Americas. Forty indigenous groups in Oaxaca are “unreached”. This means there is no church in the group capable of evangelizing the rest of the people in the area. These groups speak over 155 different dialects. Because of the mountainous landscape and great diversity of language (in two of the largest people groups, Zapoteco and Mixteco, there are 50 dialects each, none of which can be understood by the other!), Oaxaca remains one of the most unreached places in the world.
Please be in prayer for the people of Oaxaca, Mexico and the Kirbos as they work there.

The Grimaldos pastor a church called Palabra de Vida in El Cercado, Mexico. Their family consists of David, his wife Lorena, and their three sons David, Jacob, and Abisai. Just outside of Monterrey, in the beautiful Sierra Madre Oriental mountains, the growing town of El Cercado is a ripe mission field. Palabra de Vida is actively taking part in the Great Commission by reaching out to the community and making disciples. In an area where church life is often equated to dry, religious rituals, Palabra de Vida is a breath of fresh air.
Cypress Creek Church has been involved with Palabra de Vida for several years and we make regular trips to visit them and support what God is doing there. The objectives of these trips have included helping in their summer vacation bible school for children, leading Encounter retreats, holding a cell conference, training leaders, and working on construction projects. Because of the close proximity of Palabra de Vida (about and 8 hour drive), it is one of our most easily accessible ministry partners for those wanting to get involved in foreign missions.

The Porras' pastor El Castillo del Rey church in Santa Catarina, a suburb of Monterrey. They are currently teaching their church and other churches about cells. The Porras' have five children: Enrique Jr., Lilian, Priscilla Sarai and a newborn.
Pastor Enrique Porras urges us to continue to pray for Mexico. "There is always a lot of need in Mexico. Your prayers are most supportive."
Castillo del Rey takes seriously discipleship, cell groups, praise and worship, and evangelism. Because of the effort spent in disciplining the church body, they are able to go out into the streets and share Jesus. Living responsible transformed lives among the community has introduced Jesus to many.
