The good news is that God has provided a way for every single person on the planet to enter into a personal relationship with Him and receive the gift of eternal life. A few of life’s questions may help you and I grasp this good news!
God made me to love me! Even before the world was made, God had already chosen us to be His through our connection with Christ. Because of His love, God had already decided that through Jesus Christ, He would make us His children (Ephesians 1:4-5, Jeremiah 31:3, John 3:16). Next, we were created to enjoy a personal relationship with God and to manage the rest of God’s creation (Genesis 1:26-27). When we know and love God, and live in harmony with His purpose for our lives, it produces tremendous benefits in our lives. These benefits include help with weakness, purpose, confidence, security, power and strength, fulfillment and freedom.
Man has a natural, self-centered desire to control and ignore God’s design for living. “Look out for number one!” “Do your own thing.” “If it feels good, do it - regardless of what God says about it.” “It’s my life and I’ll do what I please!” These are all phrases that people verbalize revealing this desire to live independently of God.
Sin breaks our close relationship with God and causes us to fear God and try to live our lives outside of His will (Isaiah 59:2, Romans 6:23).
When Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave, He paid the penalty for our sin and bridged the gap from God to man. Jesus’ death and resurrection make a new life possible for all who believe. Jesus is the answer to this problem of separation from God (John 14:6, Romans 5:8).
